The World Bromeliad Conference will be June 8-12, 2022 in Sarasota. -- Note: the host hotel (Hyatt) has released its hold on the special rate rooms. But check with the Florida WBC team if you want to attend last-minute.
The latest WBC 2022 Flyer was recently revised to reflect the current WBC conference registration rates which are $335 if paid by May 26, 2022 or $395 thereafter. WBC 2022 starts on June 8, 2022 (or a day earlier for those arriving for the judges school, BSI Board meeting, or plant show entries) and runs through June 11, 2022.
Also, conference registrants should consider making Hyatt hotel reservations soon if they haven't already. The special hotel rate for conference registrants is only $149 plus 12% city and county tax. The usual Hyatt parking fees and resort fees are waived for conference registrants staying at the Hyatt. Inflation has pushed up the cost of hotel rooms considerably over the last two years making our special rate of $149 quite a deal! Conference registrants staying at the Hyatt also get a 10% discount at the hotel's Currents restaurant. If you have registered for the conference, you should get your room reservations now while there are still rooms available. To get the special room rate, go to the BSI website at https://www.bsi.org/ and select the Member Only Content choice at the top of the Members menu to log in. After you log in, you will see a special rate hotel reservation link in the center of the page. Click on it to make your Hyatt Hotel reservations. You have until May 14, 2022 to get the special rate (rate availability after that date is not guaranteed) if the block of available rooms at the special rate have not already been booked by others. Also, note that any hotel reservations you make are fully cancelable until 48 hours prior without penalty. For example, if your reservation starts on June 8th, you may cancel without penalty prior to June 6th. There really is no good reason not to make your hotel reservations now since the special price room rates are only available for a limited time and are easily canceled without penalty if needed.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the World Bromeliad Conference this June! --Greg Kolojeski WBC 2020 Conference Co-Chair
